Artist Spotlight: The Red and Blues

The Red and Blues are releasing singles up to the release of their debut, self-titled, EP. Aiming for a full album release in the fall, the band is making these songs available for their fans, friends, and family. The all Native (Pawnee, Sioux, Creek) Soul-Rock/Blues trio consists of Kahheetah Barnoskie (Drums, Guitar, Bass), Reign Charger (Drums, Guitar, Bass, Vocals), and Marcus Barnoskie (Drums, Guitar, Bass, Vocals). The multi-instrumentalists exchange instruments during their sets to focus their sound in to a Rock and Blues style with contrasting soul and rock rhythms. The Red and Blues music can be streamed or downloaded from soundcloud (soundcloud.com/the-red-and-blues) and reverbnation (reverbnation.com/theredandblues).
Founding members Marcus Barnoskie and Reign Charger met in Lawrence, Kansas while attending Haskell Indian Nations University. Kahheetah Barnoskie, sibling of Marcus, became a member shortly after the conception of the band, for her multi instrumental talents. The band was formed in February of 2015with the focus of spreading their message of hope and justice to Indigenous nations across the globe.
The band was selected to perform at Gathering of Nation’s Stage 49 in April of 2015 and performs frequently (2-3 shows/month) in the Lawrence, Ks area. The band is set to return to the stage in August, when school resumes, and are working diligently to finish a debut album.
